Olympique de Marseille got their 2026–27 Ligue 1 season off to an ideal start with a emphatic 4–0 victory over 10-man Strasbourg at the Stade Vélodrome. After a goalless opening 45 minutes, Marseille struck just 58 seconds after the restart when Igor Paixão drove through midfield to setup Angel Gomes, who squared for Amine Gouiri to tap in. Strasbourg's task worsened in the 58th minute when Samir El Mourabet was shown a straight red card following a VAR review. Gouiri doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 68th minute before substitute Keyliane Abdallah added a third in the 89th minute. Pierre-Emile Højbjerg capped off the dominant performance deep in stoppage time with a well-taken fourth goal.
