Description

Moses Itauma faces the biggest test of his young career when he meets Filip Hrgovic for the vacant IBF heavyweight title at The O2 in London. The unbeaten 21-year-old Briton brings speed and knockout power, but Hrgovic offers significantly greater experience at world level.

Result Description

Filip Hrgovic produced a dramatic comeback to stop Moses Itauma in the ninth round and claim the vacant IBF heavyweight title. Itauma controlled much of the early action and hurt Hrgovic, but the Croatian absorbed the punishment and increasingly took over as the younger fighter tired.

Hrgovic forced the stoppage at 2:27 of round nine, handing Itauma the first defeat of his professional career and becoming Croatia’s first heavyweight world champion.
