Description

The 2019 NBA Slam Dunk Contest in Charlotte features a field of four high-flying young players looking to establish themselves as the league's next great aerial artist. Dennis Smith Jr. (Knicks) returns for his second appearance as the betting favorite, hoping to improve on last year’s performance. Result Description
Hamidou Diallo captured the 2019 Slam Dunk title with one of the most memorable dunks in the event's history. In the first round, the Thunder rookie earned a perfect 50 by leaping over Shaquille O'Neal, sticking his elbow in the rim for a "honey dip," and pulling aside his jersey to reveal a Superman logo underneath. Diallo defeated Dennis Smith Jr. in the final round, securing the win with a total score of 88 to Smith’s 85.

While Smith Jr. wowed the crowd by jumping over J. Cole and Dwyane Wade, several missed attempts in the finale cost him the trophy. Miles Bridges and John Collins were eliminated in the first round, despite Bridges channeling Larry Johnson in a throwback Hornets jersey and Collins jumping over a model airplane.
