Description

In a unique twist for the 2021 All-Star festivities in Atlanta, the Slam Dunk Contest will be held at halftime of the All-Star Game. This year’s field is smaller than usual, featuring three rising stars making their contest debuts: Anfernee Simons (Trail Blazers), Obi Toppin (Knicks), and Cassius Stanley (Pacers). While Stanley enters as the betting favorite due to his record-breaking vertical leap at the Combine, Toppin’s explosive power and Simons’ creativity make this a wide-open race for the crown in a condensed "lightning round" format.

Result Description
Anfernee Simons claimed the 2021 Slam Dunk title in a final round decided by "Judges' Choice" rather than points. Simons defeated Obi Toppin with a 3-2 vote from the judges after a final attempt where he nearly kissed the rim mid-dunk. Earlier in the night, Simons grabbed a ball off a miniature hoop fixed to the backboard and donned a throwback Tracy McGrady jersey for a 360-slam. Toppin advanced to the finals by leaping over his father and teammate Julius Randle, while Cassius Stanley was eliminated in the first round despite a clean between-the-legs opener.
