Wyndham Clark carded an even-par 70 in windy conditions to finish Round 3 of the 2026 U.S. Open at 7-under par, opening up a commanding six-stroke lead.
The extreme 35 mph wind gusts at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club on Saturday made scoring highly difficult, leaving only five players under par for the entire tournament.
Clark's Control: Despite closing his round with a bogey on the 18th hole, Clark dominated the day with stellar par saves and a brilliant eagle on the par-5 16th to stretch his lead.Scheffler's Surge: World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler overcame a rough start (bogeys on his first two holes) to fire three straight birdies on the back nine, putting himself into the final Sunday pairing on his 30th birthday.
