Result Description

Jepchirchir claimed gold in 2:24:43 after a thrilling sprint finish, narrowly beating Assefa, who took silver in 2:24:45. Julia Paternain secured bronze in 2:27:23, earning Uruguay its first World Championships medal. Sullivan led for long stretches before fading to fourth. Despite an early start to ease conditions, high temperatures tested the field, but Jepchirchir’s closing speed proved decisive inside the stadium.
