Jack Catterall won by technical decision after an accidental clash of heads in the sixth round caused both fighters to suffer severe cuts. The ringside doctor halted the bout before round seven.

Catterall was ahead on all three judges’ scorecards with tallies of 69‑66, 69‑66, and 69‑65, earning him the WBA International and IBF Inter‑Continental welterweight titles.

Both boxers sustained significant injuries, with Catterall suffering a particularly deep gash requiring medical attention. Despite the anticlimactic finish, his performance set him on course for potential world-title contention .
