Today, July 14, the French flags are flying more than ever and La Marseillaise sounds in every corner. It is the day of the Storming of the Bastille; It is the National Holiday of France. French cyclists always have a special stimulus on this enormous day that goes from less to more and in which they will have it difficult to fulfill their purpose. After a calm first half, we ascend the Peyresourde, Val Louron-Azet, where Indurain was crowned in a queen stage, and finally, 16 kilometers of ascent to the Col du Portet with an average difference of 9%. Oh la la!
