Description
The Tour goes back to Lyon, the city that hosted the first ever stage finish won by Maurice Garin in 1903. It’ll be a different story this time around with a lumpy terrain all the way from Clermont-Ferrand and three hills in the finale: la Duchère, l’Observance and la Croix-Rousse. According to race director Thierry Gouvenou, it makes it a thrilling finish like Milan-Sanremo. Former winners of La Classicissima Julian Alaphilippe, Michal Kwiatkowski and Alexander Kristoff might be inspired but it’s a stage opened to all kind of ambitious riders.
