Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground hosted its first rugby match in November 2024, where Hong Kong beat Brazil with a score of 38–17. The main stadium hosted its first annual Hong Kong Sevens in 2025. Over 110,000 fans attended the three-day tournament.
Hong Kong co-hosted the 2025 National Games of China with Guangdong and Macau, with the Kai Tak Sports Park as part of the hosting venues. The stadium hosted rugby sevens, and the arenas hosted men's handball, fencing and bowling.
