The Salle Louis Dewerdt is a 2,500-seat gymnasium located in Dunkirk, known as the "Stadium of Flanders." It is located next to the Marcel Tribut stadium, which is used for local football. The hall is used by the Dunkerque Handball Grand Littoral handball club.
It was built between 1967 and 1968 on the initiative of Louis Dewerdt, deputy for sports in the City of Dunkirk from 1947 to 1968. At the time, the large capacity was not unanimously approved by the municipal council. His name was given to him posthumously, Louis Dewerdt dying before the inauguration. The enclosure was renovated in 2000-2001.
It is one of the halls used during the group stage of the 2001 Men's World Handball Championship.
