Midland Country Club, founded in 1928 by Dr. Hale, Gilbert A. Currie along with Dr. Herbert H. Dow. The original golf course design was overseen by Mr. Currie and he was named the first president of the newly formed Club. All 18-holes officially opened on July 1, 1928. Under the architectural guidance of Alden B. Dow and the Building Committee, tons of material were converted into 32,000 square feet of clubhouse. Construction on the clubhouse began in September 1930 and was completed in 7 ½ months. The clubhouse and golf course you see today was constructed in 2009 and officially opened on Mother’s Day 2010.
Midland Country Club is the host of the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational – an LPGA tour event.
