Halle39 is a multi-purpose hall and former hangar in the Lower Saxony city of Hildesheim.

History
When the military use of the Hildesheim airfield ended in October 1993, the former federally owned hangars were sold to businesses. The hall acquired by the Lüder Group was given the name Halle39.

Due to renovation work at the Stadttheater Hildesheim, it moved to Halle39 in the 1996/97 season. When the interim use as a theatre venue came to an end, the attempt to convert the hall into a multicultural event centre failed. In October 1997, the conversion into a warehouse was threatened, but this was averted by the takeover by Konrad Bank in the summer of the following year. At a cost of millions, Halle39 was converted into a multi-purpose hall. Until October 1998, Germany's largest beach sports hall with five beach volleyball courts, spectator stands, a fitness area and a multimedia wall. In addition, a mobile parquet floor has been used to create the possibility of holding handball matches in the hall. Until 2007, the hall was the home ground of the handball Bundesliga team Eintracht Hildesheim, who played the first handball match in Halle39 on 18 October 1998 against Dessauer HV. The project of a multifunctional beach volleyball hall turned out to be economically unprofitable after six months, as a result of which the hall was rebuilt and the playing fields with sand disappeared from the hall. In addition to the handball games of Eintracht Hildesheim, music and concert events now also took place in the hall. In addition, it was also used as a festival and exhibition hall.

In October 2009, Halle39 became the property of Event Werft GmbH and eventually became the largest event location in the city. Since 2013 (with the exception of 2021) the hall has been the annual venue of the German Darts Championship organized by PDC Europe. Other tournament series of the Darts Association are also regularly held in Halle39.

Today, Halle39 has a "multifunctional foyer" that can be used as its own event space. In addition, the character of the former aircraft hangar was strengthened by various dismantling measures. An example of this is the new hall doors based on the original model.
