The Lezama facilities or Athletic Club facilities are the training fields, the football school for the lower categories and the Athletic Club youth academy located in the municipality of Lezama, about 15 kilometres from Bilbao.
The facilities are the cornerstone of the club's unique philosophy, which only accepts players with Basque roots or origins, or those trained in the youth academy of Basque clubs. Given the limitations this poses when it comes to signing players from other clubs, it is essential to nurture future first-team players there, in addition to maintaining a strong scouting network across virtually the entire club's area of influence, through which to seek out any gems to polish and shape at Lezama.
