Description Clube Atlético Linense is a traditional Brazilian football club from the city of Lins, in the interior of the state of São Paulo. It was founded on June 12, 1927, and its colors are red and white. The club currently competes in the Série A2 of the Campeonato Paulista.
The elephant is the club's mascot. In the 1950s, it was said that the team resembled the animal: "It takes time, but it always arrives." The board supposedly relished the fame, and the club became known as the "Elephant of Northwest."
To celebrate winning the Second Division of the Campeonato Paulista in 1952, Linense players paraded on elephants from a circus that performed in Lins. In 2000, Linense held an elephant parade on the athletics track of its stadium.
