Description 
The Associação Cultural Esporte Clube Baraúnas is a Brazilian soccer club based in Mossoró, Rio Grande do Norte. It was founded as a Carnival group in 1924 and only became a soccer club thirty-six years later, on January 14, 1960. Its colors are green, white, and red.
Of the clubs from the state's interior, it is the most prominent nationally, as well as having participated in the most Brazilian Championships. It gained national recognition with its 2005 Copa do Brasil campaign, when the Leão do Oeste eliminated major Brazilian football clubs, notably Esporte Clube Vitória and Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama. In addition to participating in Brazilian championships, Baraúnas holds state titles and records, including the Campeonato Potiguar and Copa RN.
