Program SMP Racing took start in early 2013 on the initiative of a member of the board of directors of the Russian SMP Bank Boris Rotenberg. Her goal was simply defined - to enable talented riders perform in competition and grow professional skills.
The main participants of the project are young athletes. Among the participants of the program SMP Racing - just fourteen talented juniors, who was not yet 18 years old. And the youngest - kart Dmitry Agapov - only recently celebrated his ninth birthday.
The program structure is built the most logical: a basic step is the Russian-karting, the next step international competition are of little cars. They are followed by Formula 4, Formula Abarth and Formula Renault 2.0. Crowned this pyramid powerful and fast cars of Formula Renault 3.5.
This cooperation is a strong and prove their professionalism commands: Italian Euronova, Finnish Koiranen, British Comtec, French Tech 1.
In addition, the list is extensive and championships, where participation in the colors of SMP Racing take swift "body" pilots: a European Touring Championship and ELMS GT Open, and in the Blancpain Endurance Series, and all 12 riders will start on four machines.
The scale of the program is unique in the history of not only the domestic but also the international motor sport.
"From the outset, we, together with the Russian Automobile Federation sought to create a system for training pilots from karting to formula, including the body of the machine, which will be a place for the fastest drivers of any age, to bring together all lovers of this sport, to create a unified coaching advice, guided by the principles of sport - said Boris Rotenberg. - Of course, in order to better understand the specifics of the sport from the inside, it is useful sometimes to go to the start. Our main and absolute priority is to bring Russian pilots in the competitions of the highest level. "
For many years, it so happened that our country has remained on the margins of world motorsport. But now the picture is changing. Thanks SMP Racing young talents an opportunity to loudly declare themselves - and thus, the Russian national colors confidently win back a place in the international racing scene.
