Gilbert owns several sports franchises, including the National Basketball Association's Cleveland Cavaliers, the American Hockey League's Cleveland Monsters, and the NBA G League's Cleveland Charge. He operates the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, home to the Cavaliers and Monsters. As of May 2025, Forbes estimated his net worth at US$22.5 billion, making him the 88th richest person in the world. and according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, with an estimated net worth of US$27.4 billion, he is the 71st richest individual in the world.
