Mario João Jauad Pinto (born March 14, 1998) is a Portuguese mixed martial artist who competes in the heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Previously, he was a Levels Fight League (LFL) heavyweight champion.
Mixed martial arts career
Early life in the Netherlands
Pinto made his debut in the Dutch Levels Fight League promotion as a participant in the Heavyweight Grand Prix held on March 11, 2023. After defeating Filip Bradaric (knocking him out in one minute and 28 seconds of fighting) and Aladin Ben Halima (by unanimous decision) in the first round and semifinals, respectively, Pinto faced Moreno Kacapor in the final. He won the fight by unanimous decision and was crowned the new heavyweight champion.
LFL Heavyweight Championship
In his first title defense, Pinto faced Benjamin Sehic on October 29, 2023 at LFL 10. He won the fight via technical knockout in the first round, successfully defending the title.
Pinto faced Kasim Aras for the title on February 18, 2024 at LFL 11. He won the fight via unanimous decision. Subsequently, he left the title vacant.
Dana White's Contender Series
Pinto faced Lucas Triverio Camacho in week 9 of the eighth season of Dana White's Contender Series. With a first-round KO, he earned himself a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Ultimate Fighting Championship
Pinto's UFC debut would be on March 1, 2025 facing Austen Lane at UFC Fight Night 253. He won the fight after knocking out his opponent in the second round. This win earned her the Performance of the Night award. [5
