Jerling joined the Sunshine Tour in 2017 following an eighth-place finish at Qualifying School. While he has not lifted any silverware on Tour yet, Jerling has come close to winning on a few occasions.
He came third in the Vodacom Origins of Golf in Sishen in 2019 and came third in the 2021 Cape Town Open. The closest Jerling has come to claiming a professional victory, however, was when he was runner-up in the Mangaung Open in 2022.
He did finish third in the SunBet Challenge ? Sun Sibaya and does have four top-five finishes to his name,
