The 49erFX athlete first sailed aged nine and quickly rose through the ranks, a multiple national and European champion as a junior.
After Tokyo 2020, Black teamed up with Olympian Saskia Tidey to begin her Olympic sailing journey in the skiff.
A newbie to the boat, the sport-mad sailor has credited Tidey's experience as the key to her fast learning.
The University of Exeter philosophy and politics student took a break from her studies to focus on qualifying for her maiden Olympics but has plans to return following the Games.
Black and Tidey finished fifth at the 2023 World Sailing Championships to qualify the boat for Paris.
They will now make their Olympic debut as a pairing on the waters of Marseille in summer 2024.
