


Santiago Rodríguez (born August 23, 1997; Arizona, San Luis, Argentina) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a midfielder. He plays as a striker and his current team is Sarmiento de Junín of the Argentine First Division.
Career
Santiago Rodríguez, while playing the semifinal and final of the intercollegiate five-a-side soccer tournament, in the city of Villa Mercedes, representing the "Malvinas Argentinas School" of Arizona, Néstor Gutiérrez, coach of the Estudiantes reserve, attended those games in which Santiago shone (4 goals in the semifinal and another 4 goals in the final), quickly contacted the player to arrive as a reinforcement to the Puntano team to play in the Nacional "B".
In his first season he was a substitute in 22 games of which he entered in 11. He made his professional debut on matchday 14 against Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero, replacing Juan Manuel Marital 14 minutes into the second half. His debut in the net came on matchday 40 (he scored only one goal) against Instituto de Córdoba.
