Yukinari Sugawara is a Japanese professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Bundesliga club Werder Bremen, on loan EFL Championship club Southampton, and the Japan national team.

Sugawara represented Japan at the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Sugawara made his debut with the senior Japan national team in a friendly 0–0 tie with Cameroon on 9 October 2020. In March 2023, he made his first start for the Japan national team against Uruguay. In September of the same year, he provided the assist for the first goal against Germany and was also the starting point for the second goal.
