Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup champion in 2009, Jakub Kornfeil also rode five World Championship races, earning a seat for 2010 with Racing Team Germany in a campaign which produced a best result of fifth in his home GP at Brno. Kornfeil’s second season in the 125s saw the Czech rider on the Ongetta-Centro Seta team, after a promising debut in 2010. After finishing 12th that season, he remained with the team in the Moto3™ championship. Following some promising performances he teamed up with the RW Racing GP team for 2013, and then Calvo Team for 2014. In 2015 he raced for the Sepang International Circuit team on a KTM, alongside Zulfahmi Khairuddin. It would be a breakthrough season for Kornfeil who scored a first podium finish on the world stage with second in Silverstone, followed by a third in Valencia. He and the team elected to stay together in 2016 but on Honda machinery. In 2017 he moved to Peugeot MC Saxoprint, and remains with the team for 2018 but under the banner of Redox Pruestel GP. He stays there in 2019 after a solid season including a home podium at Brno.
