Haseeb Hameed ( born 17 January 1997) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Nottinghamshire. He has previously played for Lancashire and England. Primarily a right-handed batsman, he also bowls right-arm leg spin, and predominantly fields at short leg. He made his debut for England aged 19 scoring 82 before he was ruled out of the series because of a finger injury
Haseeb made his first-class debut for Lancashire against Glamorgan in August 2015, following Lancashire's decision to release batsman Paul Horton. Hameed replaced him and opened the batting alongside Karl Brown. He scored 28 in his first innings.
Haseeb became the youngest debutant to open for England in a Test match, when he played in the first Test against India at Rajkot on 9 November 2016.
