Michael Timothy Shildt (born August 9, 1968) is an American professional baseball manager and coach who is the manager of the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously managed and coached for the St. Louis Cardinals. Shildt became the manager of the Johnson City Cardinals, the Cardinals Short Season A affiliate, in 2009, along with his scouting duties. He was promoted as manager of the Cardinals AA affiliate, the Springfield Cardinals, in 2011. He joined the major league coaching staff in 2017 and became manager in 2018 after the dismissal of Mike Matheny. On July 15, 2018 he collected his first managerial win in a 6–4 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.
