Bancroft is a talented right-handed top-order batsman, who is an outstanding fieldsman with the ability to take the gloves. Bancroft was elevated off the Perth Scorchers supplementary list during BBL|04, although he made his club debut during the 2014 Oppo Champions League T20 campaign against Lahore Lions. The determined batsman’s elevation came following outstanding Sheffield Shield form.
The right-hander came through the WA system, debuting for the Warriors in October 2011 in the RYOBI Cup. After scoring centuries during the 2014-15 Sheffield Shield season, he won a call-up to Australia’s Test squad for the tour of Bangladesh, before the series was postponed. He put that aside to score a State record score in the Matador BBQs One-Day Cup in October 2015.
