Willey first joined the Scorchers after emerging on the international scene at limited overs level with England in 2015. The left-handed all-rounder put his name up in lights with a stunning century from 40 balls for Northamptonshire during the NatWest T20 Blast quarter-finals, where he also took three wickets.

The up-and-coming Willey also represented England against Australia in the One-Day International series the following month, taking a number of wickets in two matches. Willey, who is the son of former England international Peter, spent time with Subiaco Floreat previously.

Willey first joined the Scorchers for BBL|05 and played an important role in the Championship-winning BBL|06 campaign.
