Andrea Iannone (born 9 August 1989) is an Italian professional motorcycle racer who currently competes in the world championship at MotoGP level.
Andrea Iannone debuted in the 125 World Championship in 2005, taking his first win of the class in 2008. More victories prefaced the Italian’s move to Moto2™ for 2010, finishing an impressive third in his first and second seasons. For 2012 the ‘Maniac’ was once again a frontrunner and battled Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaró in the intermediate class, before moving up to MotoGP™ in 2013 with Pramac Racing Team. After consistent results in his rookie year, Iannone joined the factory Ducati Team for two years, taking his first win at the Austrian GP in 2016 and showcasing his aggressive on-track battles. The Italian moved to Team Suzuki Ecstar for 2017 and, after a tough start, began to gain some traction towards the end of the year – looking to hit the ground running with the Hamamatsu factory in 2018.
