The Pernambuco Football Championship, more commonly known as the Pernambuco Championship, is the professional football club competition in the state of Pernambuco. Organized by the Pernambuco Football Federation, it is one of the oldest football leagues in Brazil, having been held uninterruptedly since 1915. Its first champion was Sport Club Flamengo. The current state champion is Sport, winner of the 2025 edition, when it won its forty-fifth title in the competition.

According to the Pernambuco Federation, the biggest champions of the competition are: Sport, with 45 wins; Santa Cruz, with 29 titles; and Náutico, having won 24 times. The rivalry between the so-called “Trio de Ferro do Recife,” constitutes one of the biggest rivalries in the Northeast region of the country, and is marked in the history of this competition.

Currently, the First Division tournament is contested by ten teams, with some fluctuation in a given edition, and is usually held between January and mid-April of the Brazilian football season.
