Adding new events? |

Posts: 7 Joined: 2025 | Hi! I'm trying to add some new events for the first time, wanted to check I'm doing it correctly. I submitted three events but they are not appearing on the league page, does it take some time to update, or am I doing something wrong? I was adding events to https://www.thesportsdb.com/league/4550-european-rugby-champions-cup for the upcoming round of 16.

Will these events become available only once the dates and times are confirmed? I noticed Top14 puts all games at the same time for a weekend and then the fixtures get updated. I've had a look through the contributing guide, but is there more detailed instructions anywhere?

Everything else requires user input. You can see if a league is automated by checking the API Football League ID, if that is present then the league is automated. The contribution guide is ancient and requires updating unfortunately. Zag (the website admin and developer) has recently introduced logic so that a check is done to see if an event is already present, but this is just for NFL right now. In future though it means you would be able to add future fixtures to automated leagues without creating duplicates.

I’m keen to help keep the Rugby Union leagues as up to date as possible, so if there are ways I can contribute, please let me know. It’s been a few years since I’ve worked with PHP regularly, but it used to be my daily driver. zag
