Lookup Team v1 always returns Arsenal |

Posts: 2 Joined: 2025 | Hi, Im new here and trying to develop something cool using the amazing API. I just realized that even though you change the id in lookupteam (for example https://www.thesportsdb.com/api/v1/json/123/lookupteam.php?id=133725) it always returns results for idTeam=133604 (Arsenal). Any chance this could be fixed? Thanks again! zag | ||

Posts: 1,195 Joined: 2020 | You are seeing that because you're using the free key which only displays example data for some endpoints. Getting a paid key is the only way around it. zag | ||

It has been that way for a few years, but I found the old API key 3 was accidently not limited, so fixed it which is probably why a few people are just seeing it. The reason was because we were getting millions of hits a day on it. I hate restricting stuff, but sometimes it has to be done to protect the stability of the site. EDIT: I see lookup teams was restricted on the free tier accidently. I've unrestricted that again as it was supposed to be open. That at least gives free users an option to lookup team data if they know the ID. | ||

I understand that some endpoints need to be limited to avoid people abusing them. Sorry I can't pay for the subscription (yet).
