Clarification on List of Players for a Team

I am a very new user of your excellent service having only started working with it this week. We are about to upgrade to the Small Business Plan.
All functions are working well including live scores. However, when I make a query relating to the current players for a specific team, testing from users indicates that some players listed are not in the current team but have left.
Before I go deeper into verifying the accuracy of this, can I please check that I am making the correct calls to the API?
I am first searching for the team, searchteams.php. I am getting the Team ID from there and that is correct because the list of upcoming matches which I am also retrieving is correct.
I am then querying lookup_all_players.php and obtaining the list from there.
Is my understanding correct that it should be returning all current players as of this moment or have I misunderstood it?
Some clarification would be good please. Thank you.

You are most likely making the correct calls but our data is probably outdated. If you see anything wrong then please simply log in and fix it by editing the player to change their team.
Most popular leagues should be up to date already, but other leagues may not. Its a constant manual process to change teams for players.
