Yes all IDs will remain in the DB, but I might add a new additional source ID as its useful for dupe checking.
Any news on which source it might be, I’ve borrowed my friends apiFootball account to test and I’m really enjoying it so far

Be careful not to pick a scores provider that uses TheSportsDB as its source

Hi guys,
I‘m a new patreon user and enjoying your service so far. But I‘m looking forward to the change of the service provider, as I also experienced issues. If there is any chance I would root for a provider who also provides betting odds. Thanks for your great work and if i can help in any war, please let me know!

Yes my plan is to add odds with a new provider, I will take this into account when choosing a source for sure. Still evaluating all the options.

Quick question, but do you know if they have an API call to list all the teams?

teams though from what I can see.

They do however, have a call for all leagues which returns a list of every league they cover. This result could be passed into the teams per league call to make a comprehensive list

Been bad again over the holiday period.

New providers should start working after I get the next Patreon payment on about the 6th January.

Yep been testing both https://apifootball.com/ and https://www.api-football.com/ in the background recently.

I'm still deciding which one to go with as they are both about $300 a year which is quite significant. I'm aiming to impliment them by the end of next week and we should see many more leagues and teams as well added to the site. Its a big upgrade, hope your all up for adding artwork and data

Brilliant! Cheers for the update.

I'm always up for helping out! Look forward to seeing some of the data.

The sync with current teams has begun, its not looking great as a lot of teams have different names.

If anyone can help filling out the alternate names of any teams that look shortened that will really help out.

For any developers interested, In the background there is a new idApiFootball field in the database that should link the teams.

I just gave it a quick once over and changed/added a few that I thought may be problematic.

The problem is knowing just how precise the names need to be.

For example 'Real Club Deportivo de La Coruña' which is listed as 'La Coruna'

This could be written any of these ways:
Real Club Deportivo de La Coruña
Real Club Deportivo de La Coruna
RC Deportivo de La Coruña
RC Deportivo de La Coruna
Deportivo de La Coruña
Deportivo de La Coruna
Deportivo La Coruña
Deportivo La Coruna

How precise are we talking here?

How can we know which ones were not linked? Is there any link to the team names from the new importer in order to check if they were succesfully imported or not?

I'll post a list of the ones not matched when its finished.

No real way of knowing what is expected until I go through the current individual leagues and list the expected teams. Keep an eye out, this is one big job

Will do! I've been holding off on doing some major editing since you talked about new leagues could be included etc, I don't want to be possibly duplicating work.

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this!

Here is a list of teams for the premier league team names on API Football. I'm looking into why some don't match:

English Premier League

EDIT: The API Football ID numbers in ()brackets above are update able manually by users now on the team edit page. Any help would be nice

EDIT2: Missing teams ID's listed here

Awesome thanks, this should be easy enough then.

If anyone updates the ID then can they also add the 'alternate name' as well from the list. That will make doubly sure we can find them in the future

How do we find the rest of the IDs to manually fill them in?
