Full game stats are available? (team stats and player stats)

Yes its possible and may tie in with your soccer event concepts quite well.

I aim to finish it for the start of next season but will look at it soon and do some tests.

announcement

I've turned off the main soccer importer now and removed all postponed events.

Any new events can be added manually to complete the seasons.

I'll be looking at the new importer for next season and how to automate it all again over the summer.

Since we're not looking at updating the v2 endpoint until next season, can we turn the feature on to sync the livescores feed to the event once its finished? i.e. goal scorers/yellow cards

I've re-enabled it but expect some weirdness as events pan out. I've got it testing on the premier league, La Liga and Bundasliga at the moment.

I've just added all of the AFC World Cup qualifying matches that have been played so far, I still have a lot of work to do adding logos and details to all the new teams I created for it, I was just wondering if you could post a link to a list of their API Football IDs as I can't seem to find anything definitive here https://www.thesportsdb.com/sync_apifootball_leagues.php?c=World.

Try the link again now, I changed it to look at the 2019 teams

!Remind myself to change it back later....

Serbian league round 5 looks correct to me. Any other examples you can provide?

Round 4 looks like a few events were rescheduled to different dates.

Yeah I manually corrected them all for today, if I spot anymore I'll post them here

Could you take a screenshot and post it before you correct it next time, it'll be easier to work out what's going on then.

Some of the Brazil serie B fixtures are wrong tonight. Can’t take a screenshot as I’m on my phone!

The data that was imported was correct at the time of importing, but as with many football fixtures dates and times change and that looks to be what's happened here, most of the fixtures without scores have been moved to Sunday (Parana, BdP, and Confianca) and Tuesday (Chapecoense).

I'll tidy it up now.

Do we only import events once? Seems like this could be a common problem if so

To my knowledge it will import again when we get to the date when the match is rescheduled for, so all events should be accounted for eventually without any manual intervention.

The problem there then lies with the amount of unsightly duplicate and unplayed fixtures that will remain if there is no manual upkeep of the leagues.

This is my speculation from what I've witnessed so far, only Zag will be able to give you a truly accurate answer.

Yes you are correct, since we store the API-Football event ID, the importer logic looks for that ID and updates the date and time of the event each time its run. Theoretically this should mean that any rescheduled game should update automatically.

However... at the moment I have only run the importer manually as a test, so its obviously not going to update but I anticipate running it 3 or 4 times a day for each league on a schedule very soon. I just need to work on the schedule logic.

Personally I would not worry about adding manual games to our supported leagues as the importer should work it all out eventually. The only time this might be needed is things like playoffs or special matches updating the round.

EDIT: Also forgot to mention that the currentSeason field in the edit league page is automatically updated, this means it will only change when we have the data for the next season. I might make it read only at some point as I see its been updated manually a few times but that might break the importer if there is no data available for events yet. This is probably only an issue until all the main leagues restart or announce their fixtures but I thought it was worth mentioning.

is there any possibilities to update all teams with the correct list of players importing by a xml or json file? would be faster than doing by hand one by one

We used to do that, but the lists became outdated very quickly and its had its issues.

We found its better to manually add or transfer players, filling in details along the way.

Thanks for your work on Italian league, it certainly needs some updates and translations

I just updated AC Milan and Lazio for a start!

I personally use https://www.gimp.org/ or Photoshop. For kits make them transparent with the auto tools and resize to 500x500 in PNG format.

For photos try to find creative commons photos if possible from wikipedia. Resize to 700x700 and upload as JPG.

Its pretty easy once you get the hang of it. This site is also very useful https://www.remove.bg/

XML soccer will be retired next year after new owners took it over.

I will look at the replacement but this means API v1 soccer livescores will probably change in 12 months time.
