This is a great tool which i have been using myself.

Where this tool fails to work properly what is everyone else using instead?

I use GIMP and draw around the person manually with the selection line tool. Works well but is very time consuming.

Photoshop also has an auto transparent feature but I have never used it personally as I prefer open source software.

A little tip for the remove.bg site is to resize the image square before processing the image, that way you get the best quality 500x500 image.

I usually stick to open source too. Gave region select and Fuzzy select a go. Fuzzy is quicker and seems to work pretty good albeit with some additional selects where necessary.

Here is a tutorial on how to do the more accurate select tool method: https://www.wikihow.com/Remove-a-Backgr ... Paths-Tool

I'm a fan of open source too, but I find programs like GIMP not powerful enough for me, so I use Photoshop.

Actions and batching have been my friend when I've found a good source for pictures, a lot can be automated with just a bit of manual interference.

A couple of browser add ons I've found extremely useful when searching pictures and doing mass editing are:

Linkclump - Allows you to open or copy multiple links at once.

Zzllrr Imager Geek - This is the extension I use to bulk download images, there's probably a better one out there, but I've always used this, great for investigating picture URLs to see if bigger versions are available, but hidden.
