Description

West Bromwich Albion recovered from conceding inside the first minute to secure a pulsating 3-2 Championship win over Blackburn Rovers.

Rovers stunned the home crowd when Lewis Travis took advantage of Kyle Bartley's under-hit pass to Romaine Sawyers, allowing Bradley Dack to take possession and slot home from just inside the area after 25 seconds.

West Brom levelled through Matt Phillips, who chased down a Matheus Pereira through ball and showed great strength to hold off Greg Cunningham and sweep the ball past Christian Walton, and then took the lead through Jake Livermore, who placed a superb finish into the bottom corner from Pereira's lay-off.

The Baggies extended their lead in the 40th minute through Grady Diangana's sublime dinked finish after the forward produced a superb display of pace and power to beat his marker on the left, and although Bradley Johnson was able to scramble one goal back for Rovers on the stroke of half-time, West Brom were able to see out the second half and claim their first home win of the season.
