Result Description
The race lived up to its billing as a tactical and explosive battle. Moving into the home straight, USA's Aaliyah Butler looked poised to take the win, holding a visible edge over the field. However, Nickisha Pryce mounted an incredibly strong, late surge in the final meters. Closing the gap rapidly with every stride, Pryce managed to out-lean Butler directly on the finish line, stopping the clock at 49.75 seconds to Butler's 49.78. Cuba's Roxana Gómez crossed the line in third to complete the podium, while Stacey-Ann Williams took fourth.
