Description

The SunBet Challenge hosted by Wild Coast Sun is a prominent professional men's golf tournament featured on the South African Sunshine Tour. It forms part of the multi-event SunBet Challenge Series, which features stops at various premier Sun International properties.
Designed by the renowned Robert Trent Jones Jr., the Wild Coast Sun Country Club is a par-70 championship course. It is famous for its dramatic coastal topography, stretching along the Indian Ocean and challenging golfers with rugged terrain, deep ravines, rivers, waterfalls, and unpredictable coastal winds.

50-year-old veteran Jean Hugo clinched his 22nd career Sunshine Tour victory, making him the oldest player ever to win on the tour.
Hugo shot a spectacular final-round 65 (the joint-lowest round of the day) to finish at 8 under par. Hugo began the final round tied for 11th place, but his experience shined through with three critical back-nine birdies to claim the title.
