Description

The final motos at the Crossodromo Comunale Le Dune represent the ultimate physical and mental hurdle of the Sardegna weekend. The primary challenge for the riders is a track that has undergone a complete transformation; the deep sand is now carved into waist-high ruts and treacherous square-edged bumps that require absolute precision. The objective for the MXGP and MX2 fields is to maintain focus during the 30-minute plus two-lap sprint, as fatigue becomes a major factor under the relentless afternoon sun.

Strategically, the 17:10 (MXGP) and 16:10 (MX2) starts are about finding a line that hasn't been completely destroyed by the previous races. The goal for Jeffrey Herlings is to secure the overall GP win by repeating his dominant start from Race 1, while Jorge Prado and Romain Febvre look for tactical opportunities to exploit any sign of fatigue from the leader. In MX2, the tactical focus for Tom Vialle is to manage the gap to a charging Kay de Wolf, who historically excels when the track is at its roughest.
