The second day of action at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve begins with a vital 10-minute Warm Up session. The primary challenge for the riders on Saturday morning is the cooler track temperatures, which contrast sharply with the high-heat conditions expected for Race 1 later in the afternoon. The objective for the field is to confirm the final chassis adjustments made overnight and to scrub in the Pirelli tires that will be used for the 17-lap battle.

Strategically, this session is a final "systems check" for the electronics, specifically the traction control maps needed for the steep climb out of the final turn. The goal for pole-sitter Federico Caricasulo is to maintain his momentum from Superpole and ensure the ZXMOTO 820RR remains stable over the "rollercoaster" crests. The tactical focus for the Orelac Racing VerdNatura team is to refine Jaume Masia's braking stability, while Can Öncü looks to demonstrate that his qualifying crash did not dampen his race-winning pace. The ultimate goal is to find a comfortable rhythm that balances aggressive passing maneuvers with the tire preservation required for the technical final sector.

Result Description
Can Öncü proved he had fully recovered from his Superpole incident by setting the fastest time in the Saturday Warm Up on March 28, 2026. Öncü’s objective was to re-establish himself as the man to beat, and he achieved a 1:42.894 on his final flying lap. His Ten Kate Yamaha looked exceptionally planted through the technical middle sector, suggesting he has found the ideal setup for the race's heavy braking zones.

The session was a showcase of the high-speed parity expected for Race 1. Jaume Masia secured second place, trailing the Turkish rider by a mere 0.082 seconds, while the ZXMOTO of Valentin Debise rounded out the top three. Albert Arenas and Lucas Mahias completed the top five, with the entire group separated by less than four-tenths of a second. The session was briefly interrupted by a yellow flag when Tom Booth-Amos ran wide at Turn 1, but he managed to avoid a crash. With the top riders so closely matched, the Warm Up results set the stage for a classic Portimão slipstream battle in the afternoon's opening feature race.
