Round 11 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship lands at Ford Field in Detroit, featuring a technical and rapidly deteriorating track surface. The primary challenge for the field in the second 450SX Heat is navigating the soft, rutted Michigan soil, which demands precise throttle control through the high-speed whoop sections. The objective for the competitors is a top-nine finish to secure a direct transfer into the Main Event and avoid the high-risk Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ).

Strategically, the heat race is about securing a prime gate pick for the finals. The goal for the heavy hitters is to secure a clean start on the short Detroit start straight to avoid mid-pack carnage in the tight first turn. The tactical focus remains on the rhythm sections, where finding a consistent "line" is vital as the ruts deepen. With the championship points race tightening between Hunter Lawrence and Eli Tomac, the ultimate goal for the riders is to establish early dominance and gather critical data on the track's evolving conditions.

Result Description
Hunter Lawrence delivered a clinical performance in the second 450SX Heat, re-establishing his authority after qualifying fastest earlier in the day. Lawrence’s objective of a clean start was met as he powered his Honda into the lead by the second turn. He quickly found a rhythm on the demanding Detroit surface, putting together smooth, consistent laps that allowed him to steadily stretch his lead over the field and claim a convincing heat race victory.

The battle for the remaining transfer spots was headlined by Cooper Webb, who settled into a solid second place early and maintained a safe gap behind Lawrence. Further back, Malcolm Stewart and Justin Cooper engaged in a spirited duel for the final podium position, with Cooper eventually securing the spot. While Lawrence dominated the heat, the night took a turn for him in the Main Event later that evening, where a major crash in the whoops forced him to forfeit the red plate to Eli Tomac.
