The second stop of the 2026–27 Betway Big Easy Tour season heads to the Heron Banks Golf & River Estate in Sasolburg. This parkland course, situated along the banks of the Vaal River, offers a different challenge from the tight corridors of the previous week, featuring wide fairways but demanding approach shots to well-protected greens. The primary challenge for the field is navigating the "river-affected" breezes that can fluctuate throughout the day, often making club selection on the water-guarded par-3s a significant hurdle. The objective for the players is to capitalize on the scoring opportunities provided by the expansive layout to establish an early lead in this R150,000 event.

Strategically, the opening round is a test of long-iron accuracy and wind management. The goal for the field is to take advantage of the reachable par-5s, where the receptive greens offer aggressive birdie chances for those finding the short grass. The tactical focus for early season leaders and favorites is to minimize errors around the perimeter of the greens, where the subtle slopes can lead to difficult recovery shots.
