The second round at Waterkloof Golf Club shifts the focus to the "mechanical necessity" of holding a lead as the field battles for a position in the final pairing. The primary challenge for the players is navigating the firming Pretoria greens, which have become significantly faster under the clear Highveld skies. The objective for the overnight leader, Oliver Goldhill, is to maintain the momentum from his historic opening 61 while managing the increasing pressure of the season-ending Order of Merit race.

Strategically, the round is a test of iron precision. The goal for the chasers is to capitalize on the "gettable" par-5s on the back nine to close the gap before the final day. The tactical focus for the field remains the difficult par-3s, where the swirling afternoon winds traditionally make club selection a guessing game. With only the top 30 players eligible for this finale, the objective for every competitor is to post a sub-par score to remain in contention for the 12 available Sunshine Tour cards.

Result Description
Daniel Cronje seized the initiative on the second day, carding a "clinical" 8-under-par 64 to take a slim one-stroke lead into the final round. Cronje’s objective was met through a near-perfect display of power and touch, highlighted by an eagle and seven birdies. After starting the day five strokes back, his two-day total of 14-under-par has placed him in the pole position to secure both the tournament title and a significant jump in the final Order of Merit standings.

The overnight leader, Oliver Goldhill, faced a more turbulent day, signing for a 2-under-par 70 to sit in solo second at 13-under-par. While Goldhill managed six birdies, four dropped shots allowed the field to narrow the margin. A formidable chasing pack has formed at 10-under-par, including the in-form Jacques van der Merwe, Leon Visser, Tristan Leonard, and England's Jake Bolton. The day was defined by major moves from the middle of the pack, most notably Bradley De Beer, who vaulted into the top 10 with a bogey-free 64.
