The second round at the Deer Creek Course in Savannah presented the critical "Cut Day" for the 156-man field. The primary challenge for the players was the shifting coastal winds, which historically make the back nine's water-lined finishing holes significantly more treacherous than the morning sessions. For overnight leader Ian Gilligan, the objective was to consolidate his record-setting opening round and maintain his cushion over a hungry pack of Korn Ferry Tour hopefuls.

Strategically, Round 2 was a calculated battle for positioning. The objective for those hovering around the projected cut line of -4 was to find a balance between aggressive birdie hunting on the par-5s and defensive play on the difficult par-3s. With the greens firming up under the Georgia sun, the tactical priority for the field was precise iron play, as any missed green on the wrong side could easily lead to a tournament-ending bogey.

Result Description
Blades Brown ignited the local crowd with a spectacular 9-under 63 to seize the 36-hole lead at the Club Car Championship. Starting the day four shots back, the Georgia native dismantled the Deer Creek layout with an eagle on the par-5 14th and seven birdies, reaching 15-under par for the tournament. Brown’s performance was a masterclass in local knowledge, as he repeatedly took aggressive lines over the bunkers to set up short approach shots on the par-4s.

Overnight leader Ian Gilligan followed his historic 62 with a steady 3-under 69 to sit in solo second at 13-under. While Gilligan’s putter wasn't as red-hot as Thursday, his bogey-free streak continued through the first 12 holes before a lone dropped shot on the 16th slowed his momentum. John Pak remained firmly in contention, carding a 68 to sit in third at 12-under, while veteran Brian Gay and Freddie Jacobson shared fourth at 11-under. The cut eventually fell at a low 5-under par, claiming several notable names including former PGA Tour winner Bill Haas.
