The final 18 holes at the DLF Golf and Country Club presented the ultimate test of nerves on the DP World Tour’s most intimidating layout. Alex Fitzpatrick survived a rollercoaster final round to claim his first DP World Tour title at the 2026 Hero Indian Open. Entering the day with a two-shot lead, Fitzpatrick saw his cushion vanish after a double-bogey on the par-3 3rd hole. However, the Englishman showed incredible resilience, birdying the 8th and 11th to regain control. Despite a late scare on the par-5 18th where his approach shot narrowly avoided the water, Fitzpatrick scrambled for a par to sign for a 1-under 71, finishing at 14-under par for the tournament.

The victory was far from certain as Niklas Nørgaard mounted a furious charge, firing a 5-under 67 to finish just one stroke back at 13-under. Nørgaard had a 15-foot birdie putt on the last to force a playoff, but the ball agonisingly caught the lip and stayed out. Defending champion Eugenio Chacarra struggled to find his rhythm on the greens, carding an even-par 72 to finish in solo third at 11-under. For the home crowd, the story of the day was Ajeetesh Sandhu, who delivered a brilliant 4-under 68 to finish in a tie for fourth at 10-under, marking the best performance by an Indian golfer in the event since 2017.
