Cage Fury Fighting Championships kicked off its 2026 campaign at the historic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia with a triple-header of vacant title fights. The primary challenge in the main event featured the meteoric rise of Busurman "Bushido" Zhumagul against the veteran seasoning of Daniel "The Lion Tamer" Morrison for the vacant welterweight strap. For the 21-year-old Zhumagul, the objective was to prove his "first-round finisher" reputation could translate into championship-level endurance. Standing 6'4" with a reach that dominates the 170-pound division, the Kyrgyzstan native aimed to maintain his perfect professional record under the bright lights of UFC Fight Pass.

Strategically, Morrison’s goal was to drag the young phenom into "deep water," utilizing his superior experience and a three-fight winning streak to test Zhumagul’s composure. The co-main event also promised fireworks, with undefeated French standout Nikita "The Gorilla" Leshukov taking on Will "Soldier of Christ" Starks for the vacant lightweight title. With four new champions set to be crowned across the pro and amateur ranks, the evening was positioned as a definitive "changing of the guard" for the promotion.

Result Description
Busurman Zhumagul officially moved from prospect to champion, capturing the vacant CFFC Welterweight title with a clinical second-round submission (anaconda choke). For the first time in his professional career, Zhumagul was forced beyond the first round by a resilient Daniel Morrison. However, just 42 seconds into the second frame, Zhumagul landed a stunning spinning back elbow that dropped Morrison, allowing the Philadelphia-based fighter to lock in the choke and force the tap. The victory improved Zhumagul to 5-0, with all five wins coming by way of stoppage.

The night featured a "parade of finishes," with nine out of ten bouts ending before the final bell. Will Starks claimed the vacant lightweight title in the co-feature, overcoming early adversity to stop Nikita Leshukov via TKO (punches and elbows) late in the third round. In the women's strawweight division, Japan's Arisa Matsuda made a successful U.S. debut, submitting Ayan Tursyn with a first-round armbar. The amateur ranks also saw history, as Kayana La Torre secured the inaugural NextGen women's bantamweight title with a rear-naked choke over Taylor Drees.
