Cage Fury Fighting Championships returned to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa for a heavyweight title clash that saw a significant late-notice change. Originally, champion Larry "Oso" Gonzales was scheduled to defend his strap against Tafon Nchukwi; however, after Nchukwi withdrew, the 6'9" Brazilian powerhouse Vitor Resende stepped in to challenge for the gold. The primary challenge for Gonzales was overcoming a massive seven-inch height disadvantage against the undefeated American Top Team product.

The objective for Gonzales was to repeat the "replacement magic" that saw him win the title as a short-notice underdog in 2025. For Resende, the goal was to maintain his 100% finish rate and leverage his reach to keep the champion at bay. With the co-main event featuring former heavyweight champion Anthony Guarascio against the rising Jackson Stanford, the evening was designed as a showcase for the division's future stars.

Result Description
Vitor Resende is the new CFFC Heavyweight Champion after surviving a "rollercoaster" main event to defeat Larry Gonzales via split decision (47-48, 48-47, 48-47). The 25-minute battle was a tactical tug-of-war where Resende used his length to dominate the early exchanges, while Gonzales nearly turned the tide in the middle rounds with his relentless pressure. Resende found a second wind in the final five minutes, closing the championship rounds strongly enough to convince two of the three judges he had done enough to secure the belt.

The night’s co-main event provided the most explosive highlight, as Jackson Stanford demolished former champion Anthony Guarascio in just 17 seconds via TKO. Following his victory, Stanford entered the cage for a tense faceoff with the newly crowned Resende, signaling a massive title fight on the horizon. Other notable main card results included Ron Humphrey and Christian Carr securing first-round knockouts, while Morquez Forest dominated Ashton Charlton in a three-round unanimous decision.
