The first qualifying session at Sebring International Raceway sets the grid for the opening race of the 2026 season. The primary challenge for the drivers is the 15-minute "sprint" format, which leaves little room for error on the 3.74-mile, 17-turn circuit. The objective is to generate peak tire pressure and temperature by the second flying lap to combat the morning's cooler track temperatures. With a record-breaking Pro class field, finding a clear "gap" in traffic—particularly through the high-speed sections of the Ullman Straight—is the strategic priority for teams like TR3 Racing and Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti (WTR).

Result Description
Will Bamber secured the first pole position of the 2026 season, delivering a dominant performance in the No. 29 TR3 Racing Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2. Bamber clocked a blistering 2:00.093, falling just short of breaking the two-minute barrier but comfortably gapping the rest of the field. His lap was remarkably consistent, setting purple sectors in the first two timed segments of the track to secure the top spot for Race 1.

The session was briefly interrupted by a red flag early on, caused by a spin from an LB Cup entry at Turn 7, which forced several leaders to abandon their first flying laps. Once the green flag returned, Hampus Ericsson of WTR managed to jump into the second spot with a 2:00.385, ensuring a front-row start for the defending team champions. Tommi Gore, making an impressive Pro class debut for ANSA Motorsports, qualified third, while Danny Formal continued his Sebring mastery by taking the Pro-Am pole with the fifth-fastest time overall (2:00.712).
