Description

The second round of the 2026 Ayla Championship remains cancelled, as the Ayla Golf Club in Aqaba stands empty following the tour's total suspension of the "Jordan Series." The strategic narrative for "Moving Day" has been entirely abandoned; instead of players navigating the technical par-5s and the shifting coastal winds of the Red Sea, the day is marked by the complete absence of professional competition. The primary hurdle remains the regional security crisis, which prompted the MENA Tour to pull the plug on the event well before the first tee time was ever struck.

The headline story continues to be the logistical fallout for the international field. While Round 2 was originally intended to be the final push for players to secure a spot inside the 36-hole cut, there is no leaderboard to speak of. The cancellation has forced a significant pause in the 2025–26 Order of Merit race, leaving top contenders in a state of competitive limbo. Tour leadership has emphasized that the decision was a "mechanical necessity" to ensure player safety as regional tensions escalated, effectively ending any hope of professional golf in Jordan for the remainder of the spring season.
